This weekend, JD and Jordan Brand will take over the 18th Arrondissement in Paris with a day-to-night event for the surrounding community. The “Besbar Market” is set to host hairdressers, nail artists and food vendors as well as musicians in celebration of the local heroes who have elevated the district’s culturally rich legacy.
The announcement follows on from Jordan Brand’s “Paris to the World” campaign series which highlighted the ways in which the eclectic neighborhoods across the city have nurtured a diverse mix of talent. In the 18th Arrondissement feature, Paris-born rapper Guy2bezbar explored how the district influenced his creative journey, lending a close-knit support system in his rise to fame. He lands at the upcoming celebration alongside singer Ayra Starr at the forefront of the evening events.
For those attending the party at the panoramic Le Dernier Étage venue, a full schedule curated by the brands has already been revealed. In its line-up of featured businesses, Twins Tooth Gems will be joined by nail artist Lili Creuk as well as barber Joris Ebong who will offer fresh trims on the day. Supplying the food for the event, Crispy Paris will have its own stall focussing on the soul food favored in the area.
As well as showcasing the best – and most authentic – local businesses, the event aims to give back to the youth, namely those who have represented the Jordan Brand through their kicks and clothing. A roster of burgeoning music acts have been enlisted to perform throughout the night including Juls, Carla Jenus and a special performance from Guy2bezbar and Leto to end the night.
