Piaget Reveals Dragon and Phoenix Inspired Lunar New Year Collection

Piaget, the celebrated Swiss watchmaker and jeweler, has unveiled a new collection to celebrate the Lunar New Year, marking the beginning of a new 12-year cycle in the Chinese Zodiac. The collection pays tribute to the Dragon and Phoenix, symbols of masculinity and femininity, strength and power, hope and rebirth as well as an embodiment of harmony and balance.

Central to the collection are the Altiplano and Emperador models, crafted with great attention to detail and artistry. Anita Porchet, a master of enameling, crafted the two 38mm Altiplano Zodiac references. These timepieces are limited to 38 pieces each and feature either a vibrant blue Dragon or a Phoenix in red, pink and orange hues, set against a dial in white and grey mother of pearl. The use of cloisonné enameling and gold engraving brings life to the mythical creatures.

As for the High Jewellery segment of the collection, it includes a 41mm Altiplano watch, where a gold-engraved Dragon with red lacquered eyes clasps a mystical black opal. This piece, limited to eight numbered editions, showcases Piaget’s 830P Manufacture ultra-thin, hand-wound mechanical movement. The Dragon motif also graces a Piaget Emperador watch, featuring a flying tourbillon and a design enriched with snow-set sapphires and diamonds, reminiscent of a starry sky.

Additionally, two Phoenix High Jewellery watches offer a feminine touch to the collection. One model features a dazzling array of marquise and brilliant-cut diamonds, while another combines ruby and white gold. Both models, limited to eight pieces each, showcase Piaget’s expertise in gold engraving.

For the first time, the collection includes High Jewelry creations like a Dragon brooch, ring and Phoenix earcuffs. The standout pieces include a Dragon ring centered around a 4.02ct cushion-cut Mozambique ruby and a Dragon brooch featuring yellow sapphire, spessartite and spinel. The earcuffs, available in diamond and rose gold or ruby and white gold, reflect Piaget’s signature style of asymmetry and flamboyance.

The collection is rounded off with two made-to-order High Jewellery cuff watches — the Dragon cuff watch combines onyx with a variety of diamond cuts and a black opal cabochon, while the Phoenix cuff features a rubellite cabochon adorned with pink rubies, sapphires and cobalt spinels.
