Ben Foden’s toddler daughter was rushed to hospital after a freak accident while on summer holiday.
The rugby player, 38, married Jackie Smith Foden shortly after his split from The Saturdays star Una Healy, and in 2020 they welcomed a daughter together, Farrah.
This week, Farrah was hospitalised with a painful injury after playing at a kids’ gymnasium while on holiday with her parents and half-siblings.
His wife Jackie explained the three-year-old jumped into a foam pit but some ‘moron kid’ had removed some of the foam blocks, which they only realised after their daughter became injured.
‘She jumped in and her foot hit the floor inside the pit, which insanely wasn’t padded,’ Jackie went on, hitting out at the gymnasium staff claiming they were not paying attention.
Farrah was left with ‘a hairline fracture at the front of her foot’ – but because of her age has to wear a cast right up to her thigh.
Jackie went on to despair at the fact their daughter ‘can’t walk or do anything for the next 4-6 weeks, which is unfathomable to even think about for a toddler. So yah, pray for us.’
The mum-of-one illustrated the disaster with a series of photographs, including an injured Farrah looking miserable as she lay on a bed in hospital, while dad Ben tried to cheer her up.
In another, Farrah is seen with a brightpink cast reaching all the way up to her thigh with only her toes exposed.
Ben’s children with ex-wife Una, Aoife and Tadhg, were snapped waiting on chairs in the background, looking slightly less than impressed with the situation.
Jackie herself had despaired over the loss of their summer holiday thanks to the accident, writing alongside a photo of Farrah at the doctor, ‘What summer vaca is complete without a trip to the ER.’
She also tagged the gymnasium in the picture, sarcastically thanking the company for the situation they were in.
Aoife, 11, and Tadhg, eight, were in the US visiting their father and his new wife and daughter, after he and Una split in 2018 after he cheated on her.
While the split was not exactly amicable, time appears to be healing wounds as Unaa recently shared a snap of Ben with their children when he was visiting Ireland.
And Ben gave an insight into their relationship with OK! Magazine, saying they had ‘come a long way since our divorce.
‘Our main priority is raising two healthy and loved children. Una’s always been a great mum.’
