Tess Daly enjoys Valentine’s date with Vernon Kay
Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daly and BBC Radio 2 host Vernon Kay have one of the most enduring marriages in showbusiness, having celebrated their twentieth wedding anniversary in September this year.
The glamourous couple, who share two daughters Phoebe, 18, and Amber, 14, first met while Vernon was working as a presenter on Channel 4’s T4 back in 2001, and married two years later.
Despite over two decades passing since then, Tess recently said she still gets excited by just seeing his name come up on her phone.
“We still sit down for dinner and have so much to talk about. We still have a real laugh,” she said in a TikTok Q&A with fans in February this year.
“I see his name come up on my phone and I’m like’ yay’ she confessed. “It’s like I get that little….” she said, taking a deep breath and indicating excitement before continuing, “We do have a good laugh.

“He’s always messing about dad dancing in the kitchen and singing and dancing, so never a dull moment.”
For his part, Vernon is somewhat less discreet, confessing “sex is still important”.
Asked if he has ever taken Viagra he stressed: “No! That’s the last pill I need to be taking! But it is a thing — erectile dysfunction affects half of men over 40. But not this one,” he said in an interview with The Sun in May this year.
“I think sex is still important in a marriage though because your bodies are both different, and love is evolving constantly,” he continued.
“Travelling through life together starts when you get married, but your bodies change, and my body…doesn’t look like it did when we first met,” he confessed. “I worry about it. I always want to be in peak shape physically,” he admitted.

The couple celebrated their landmark anniversary on September 12 and Tess posted four photos to Instagram to mark the occasion.
Three of the photos depicted lovely throwback scenes of the couple’s wedding.
Meanwhile a fourth photo showed the pair celebrating their anniversary with flowers and cake.
Captioning the post, Tess said: “Cannot believe it’s 20 years ago today! Always @vernonkay.”
