She goes by @dermatologysurgeon on TikTok and boasts over 35,000 followers.
Using the filter herself, she wrote ‘Dermatologist here. This filter is spot on for facial ageing (deepening of tear troughs, more prominent smile lines, drooping around mouth, increased pigmentation’.
Adding in the caption ‘As we age, we develop more wrinkles and fine lines, we lose fat in our cheeks and around our eyes, and gain excess loose tissue in our lower face.
‘Our skin tone becomes blotchy and uneven, and our hair greys and thins. This filter is pretty accurate!’
Her TikTok has been seen by more than 11.1 million people – some who are happy about this information, and others who weren’t too pleased with the filters results.
One user wrote ‘I need dermatologists to stop confirming these filters cause I will cry’.
Another penned ‘but why am I looking 100 when i’m going to be turing 45??? lordt!’
Others added ‘And that’s why I’ll be getting my first face lift at 35’ and ‘Please don’t say that, I look like I invented dust’.

However, some viewers felt positively about it, insisting that it’s ‘Such an amazing thing to get to grow old’.
Someone else wrote ‘aging is a privilege denied to many! it makes me sad seeing all the comments of people afraid to age’.
Another agreed ‘I actually find this age filter to be so much kinder than the other one. I’m not terrifying in this one’.
One viewer pleaded ‘girl this filter says i’m gonna look 100 by the time i’m 50, its not accurate in the slightest,’ to which the dermatologist explained ‘The pattern is! The rate is dependent on individual’.
So, the expert clarified that the filter is ‘spot on’ for how you will look, but how quickly you age is dependent on ‘genetics, skincare and lifestyle,’ which reassured some people.
Lindsey Zubritsky, another US-based dermatologist, agreed that the filter is ‘an accurate representation of the aging process’.
She also made a video on her TikTok account, where she goes by @dermguru, to try it out herself and give her opinion.
The expert wrote ‘As a derm, this ageing filter is VERY accurate. I tell my patients that getting older is a privelage but daily SPF and tretinoin, and avoiding tanning, smoking and alcohol can help you age with grace’.

‘So you can see that your under eye bags become more prominent, your laugh lines are more visible, you’ll start to get jowls, your skin tone overall becomes uneven – what do we think?’
