A married couple, eager to start a family, were left stunned when they discovered they had been having sex incorrectly for four years.
This revelation explained why the wife, despite regular intercourse, remained a virgin and the couple failed to conceive.
The unnamed pair, aged 26 and 24, sought professional help after their attempts to get pregnant proved fruitless.
The situation took an unexpected turn when doctors found out that the wife was still a virgin, despite her admission that sex was “usually painful” for her.
Obstetrician Liu Hongmei shared: “The couple were very young, the man 26 and the woman 24. They were very healthy, but, despite being married for four years, couldn’t conceive.
“Their family was giving them a lot of stress because of it,” she added. During the consultation, Liu learned that the couple had regular sex.
The wife also confessed that sex was “unusually painful” for her every time, but she endured it in hopes of getting pregnant. Her symptoms led Dr. Liu to suspect a possible gynaecological disease. However, Liu expressed her shock when an examination revealed the wife was still a virgin.
According to China’s Guiyang Evening Post, Liu’s “experience” led her to inspect the woman’s anus. It was then that the medic is said to have learned the couple had been mistakenly having anal sex for four years, resulting in their failure to conceive.
Doctor Liu reportedly handed the couple, from Bijie city in China’s southwestern Guizhou province, each a sex-education handbook.
She also gave them “guidelines” before they were sent home. The advice appeared to work, as news of the wife’s pregnancy arrived just a few months later.
They reportedly informed the now-retired doctor that they were finally expecting – by sending 100 eggs and a live hen as gifts to her former hospital.
Liu said: “Four years of marriage and neither the husband nor wife knew how to get pregnant. Couples so lacking in general knowledge are very rare.”
She added: “But it is not uncommon for people to lack or have misconceptions regarding sexual knowledge.”
