As the long-anticipated sixth and final series of The Crown lands on Netflix tomorrow, it marks the debut of a young actress who is surely destined for the bright lights of Hollywood.
But as 21-year-old Meg Bellamy hits small screens in the role of a student Kate Middleton, she is also hot property for fashion houses around the world who are tripping over themselves to style her.
Since she was announced for the role as the royal fashion icon last year, Meg has been making appearances at fashion shows and glitzy events, showing off her style prowess in statement outfits.
From Cartier suits to becoming the face of Dior, the actress who hails from Wokingham has taken a leaf out of her on-screen character’s book in upping the style stakes as she becomes a household name.
However, while she may be following in the Princess of Wales’s footsteps as a style icon, Meg is carving out her own sleek image – opting for simplicity with chic black outfits and the occasional pop of colour.
Meg Bellamy, set to play style icon Kate Middleton in The Crown series 6, is carving out her own style as her star continues to rise
The Daily Mail revealed this week that the 21-year-old star on the rise has recently signed a deal to become the new face of Dior – a position that was falsely linked earlier this year to Meghan Markle.
That’s not all: Cartier, Valentino and Jaguar are all deeply enamoured with Meg Bellamy. In further signs that her lifestyle has become fit for a princess, she’s been a guest at some of society’s most glittering events.
A Netflix insider told the paper: ‘They have been queuing up for Meg, she is playing the most famous woman in the world in a globally famous television drama, so many labels and brands want some of that.

As she attended the LA premiere of The Crown series 6 this week, Meg stunned in a Stella McCartney dress with a plunging neckline
‘She is a total unknown, but she is being treated like Kate, an A-list princess.’
This year, Meg has been spotted at some very exclusive events wearing show-stopping outfits, as top fashion brands scramble to hang their clothes on Netflix’s new star.
She opted for a dazzling Stella McCartney cocktail dress to attend the premiere of the sixth series of The Crown in LA this week, in a show-stopping look that firmly announced her entrance onto the world stage.
The black gown featured a plunging neckline and a touch of sparkle from diamond-encrusted straps.
She also sported some stunning looks at Paris Fashion Week in September, where she was a guest of French fashion house Dior.
Sitting in the front row of the shows, she opted for all black outfits including a tailored suit with sharp lines and a full-skirted black dress.

Meg also kept up her monochrome theme with an oversized white suit featuring wide-leg trousers and a double-breasted jacket.
Perhaps one of her most chic looks was a black Galvan dress featuring a bardot neckline, paired with strings of pearls and black gloves as she channeled Audrey Hepburn in a Jaguar shoot.
Although Meg definitely favours simplicity in chic black outfits, she also opts for a pop of colour here and there, and sported an elegant summer look as she attended Goodwood Festival earlier this year.
The actress opted for a jade green Cartier suit, featuring wide-leg trousers and a tailored jacket.
With the new role under her belt and designers scrambling to dress her, Meg Bellamy’s rise is set to be meteoric.
But the actress comes from humble beginnings, and she was plucked from obscurity to land the role in The Crown after self-taping her audition and sending it to the makers of the show after seeing the casting call on social media.
Announcing the casting on Instagram last September, she wrote: ‘Pinch me please… So excited to announce that I will be playing Kate Middleton in Series 6 of Netflix’s The Crown.
‘It is such an honour to be joining the most incredible cast and crew and I will strive to do Kate justice.’
