Fans mourn discontinued Smarties treat they will never see again – and they say it was 'absolute top tier' | The Sun

A DISCONTINUED Smarties treat has caused fans to mourn the snack they'll likely never see again.

Fans remembered the long-lost cookies thanks to a post online from a nostalgic food and drink influencer.

Facebook group Food Finds UK posts food items no longer available to famished revellers, and has reminded followers fans of the salivating Smarties cookies.

The chewy baked treats were previously sold in supermarkets across the UK but mysteriously vanished from shelves, much to the dismay of sweet-toothed shoppers.

Users congregated in the comments section to pay tribute to the axed "top tier" cookies.

One said: "My mum use to get these when I was younger from Morrisons bakery, they slapped!"
