After delivering a concise yet high-energy teaser over the summer, Michael Mann is readying for Ferrari‘s big-screen release with a longer, even more action-packed glimpse into the world of Enzo Ferrari. Starring Adam Driver as Enzo Ferrari, Mann’s biopic follows Ferrari’s personal life and professional career, exploring both the identity and legacy of the Italian former racer in a way that hasn’t been done before.
“Two objects cannot occupy the same point in space at the same moment in time,” Ferrari asserts at the opening of the trailer. “The corner races at you. You have perhaps a crisis of identity – am I a sportsman or a competitor?” Based on Brock Yates’ book Enzo Ferrari: The Man, The Cars, The Races, The Machine, Ferrari boasts a star-studded cast, including Shailene Woodley and Penelope Cruz who star as his mistress and his wife, respectively.

“If you get into one of my cars, you get in to win,” Ferrari proclaims, just seconds before it’s revealed he is nearing bankruptcy. The trailer compiles a diverse montage of clips, juxtaposing serene shots of the picturesque Italian countryside with intensive high-speed races and dramatic, emotion-infused romantic interludes, as Ferrari channels all of his energy into winning the 1,000-mile Mille Miglia to save his reputation and career.
Stream the trailer in the gallery above, and look out for Ferrari, which hits theaters on December 25.
