The “Supremium” Spotify subscription tier could be launching soon at $19.99 USD a month.
According to reports, Chris Messina dove into the streaming service’s app code and uncovered the tier’s new logo, name and several features including 24-bit lossless audio, AI playlist generation tools, advanced playlist mixing tools based on aspects such as BPMs, vibe, mood, activity or genre, listening statistics similar to that of Last.fm and 20 to 30 hours of audiobook listening.
This supports the claims of redditor Hypixely, who first broke the news that the new subscription tier will be priced at $19.99 USD and shared similar features as the ones Messina listed. There is also a tool called “Soundcheck” that details a subscriber’s listening habits.
Spotify did not confirm the reports, with a rep telling TechCrunch, “At Spotify, we are constantly iterating and ideating to improve our product offering and offer value to users. But we don’t comment on speculation around possible new features and do not have anything new to share at this time.”
Stay tuned for more info on Spotify’s Supremium tier.
