Joe Jonas has reportedly switched gears in his approach to his divorce from Sophie Turner and it may mean the drama between them is drawing to a close.
After weeks of back and forth rumors that many believe are being spread by the former couple’s PR teams, Jonas is allegedly done with fighting with his estranged wife. Jonas, 34, and Turner, 27, have begun a four-day mediation aimed at resolving custody issues and establishing a parenting plan. Sources told Page Six that the Jonas Brothers singer is hopeful about the outcome of this mediation.
“Joe is committed to making it work with Sophie in mediation and doesn’t want to put up a fight — as long as they can come to a fair agreement on the kids,” the insider shared.
Turner’s fans have accused Jonas of imploring a PR strategy hellbent on tarnishing the Game of Thrones star’s reputation after early reports about their divorce painted her as a party animal and claimed Jonas was caring for their two kids.
Though Jonas has urged fans ignore rumors, this new report about his hopes for a peaceful outcome suggest that if the rumors were ever true, he’s done spreading them!
Turner was spotted leaving the former couple’s first mediation session on Wednesday, October 4 around 6pm, according to Page Six, before Jonas departed two hours later. The mediation is expected to settle what has been the most contentious aspect of the divorce — custody of their daughters Willa, 3, and Delphine, 1.
Jonas and Turner have been locked in a turf war since the actress sued her ex in September for the “immediate return” of their kids claiming that they had agreed to make England their “forever home.” Turner alleged that Jonas has backtracked on their plans and is keeping his daughters’ passports to prevent her from taking them to England.
