Krishnan Breaks Down After Watching Montage Of His Strictly Moments
Krishnan Guru-Murthy made a brutal Strictly Come Dancing-themed dig at an MP today just weeks after he was eliminated from the show. The Channel 4 presenter was the seventh celebrity to be eliminated from the dance competition.
Having just missed out on the iconic Blackpool ballroom week, Krishnan lost his spot in the show to Angela Rippon and was visibly upset with the result. He then made an emotional post on Instagram saying that the show brought him “happiness.”
The 53-year-old has since made a joke about missing Blackpool week on X, the platform formally known as Twitter. Resharing a post about Conservative MP Scott Benton, it made relation to a potential by-election in Blackpool South.
Krishnan said: “Perhaps I will be making it to Blackpool after all – just for a different TV programme.” Many of his 706,000 followers couldn’t help but react to the light-hearted joke and took to the comments section.
One person replied: “Cha-cha-cha-changes? The Quango Tango? Foxtrot Oscar? A Rumba Rumble over the Gamble Grumble?” A second typed: “10s across the board.”

A third commented: “Somebody will be waltzing off into the sunset,” whilst another chimed in: “We knew you’d get there in the end.” A fifth said: “Be sure to waltz around that sprung-floor in the Tower.”
Following his exit from Strictly last month, Krishnan paid a special tribute to his dance partner Lauren with a series of heartwarming snaps of their journey on the show. He said: “That’s all folks. Heartbroken. Thanks for the love and support – I’m so delighted that so many people enjoyed watching us.”
He continued: “There is something about taking big risks, performing, giving it everything, making yourself totally vulnerable and shedding the armour you normally use to survive that is exhilarating, liberating and inspiring.

“Dancing is physically and emotionally unique. I had more fun than should normally be allowed on television. I owe the vast majority of it my stunning dance partner @laurenmayoakley who is brilliant in every way, funny, clever, caring, gorgeous and wise.
“She taught me with patience and trust, boosted me when I doubted, picked me up when I crumbled. […] She is an incredibly talented dancer, choreographer and producer. When we met she said she had one aim: to make me love dance. She succeeded in week one. And somehow we made it to week eight.”
The Strictly Come Dancing final takes place this Saturday at 7pm on BBC One. Either Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin, Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell or Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola will lift the Glitterball Trophy.
