There’s nothing better than finding a perfume that instantly becomes your favourite go-to scent, but often their higher price tags mean we’re reluctant to use them every day, settling for something that we don’t love quite as much but is more affordable to wear daily and saving our favourite for special occasions instead.
We’re firm believers in never saving anything for best, but we also know the struggle of having to splurge on a refill of your favourite designer perfume.
We’re not alone in the dilemma, though, and members of the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group have found the perfect solution in the form of affordable body sprays that supposedly smell exactly like luxury perfumes.
If Lancôme La Vie est Belle Eau de Parfum, £73.60 here (was £92), is your go-to perfume of choice, one bargain hunter has found the perfect affordable dupe, with the Tu Est Belle Body Spray, £2.99 here, which is available at Home Bargains.
Posting in the group, the member wrote: “Lancome La vie Est Belle is my favourite perfume and I've just picked this up for £2.99 from Home Bargains and it smells exactly the same! Will be using this for work instead of my perfume now! Bargain!”
Another also shared their find, writing: “Home Bargains £2.99… Smells like La Vie Est Belle, good for topping up over the good perfume.”
La Vie Est Belle is one of Lancôme’s best-loved fragrances, with notes of blackberry, pallida iris concrete, orange blossom, jasmine and patchouli, and the bargain body spray has similar notes of iris, jasmine and patchouli.
The body spray is only available at the budget-friendly retail store, but if you prefer to do your beauty shopping online, the Charlie Divine Body Fragrance, £1.69 here, has a similar scent of black cherry and iris petal and has rave reviews from shoppers for its longevity.
If you’re looking to splash out a little more but still don’t want to splurge on the original Lancôme La Vie est Belle Eau de Parfum, £73.60 here, then the viral perfume brand Sol de Janeiro’s Limited Edition After Hours Perfume Mist, £22 here, has all the same fragrance notes and the Lancôme one, including blackberry top notes, jasmine heart notes and patchouli base notes for a more affordable perfume, rather than a body mist.
