Dua Lipa, Henry Cavill and John Cena Star in Espionage-Thriller 'Argylle'

Based on the first official look at Matthew Vaughn‘s spy thriller Argylle, the forthcoming film is loaded with signature Vaughn action sequences and a big-name cast. Including Henry Cavill and Samuel L. Jackson as well as John Cena and Dua Lipa reuniting again after Barbie, the spy thriller is sure to tell quite the cheeky tale.

The film follows a super-spy named Argylle, played by Cavill, whose world gets intertwined with that of reclusive author Elly Conway, played by Bryce Dallas Howard, as her Argylle novel series begins to strikingly resemble the events that are transpiring IRL. After a convincing sequence of high-speed happenings, Elly’s mom (Catherine O’Hara) interjects – “the book is phenomenal sweetie, but what happens next?” – and we see the young author (and her cat) finding herself wrapped up in the very real world of espionage.

Per Apple TV‘s logline, the film will immerse viewers in a bevy of different global locations, “following [Argylle’s] globe-trotting adventures across the U.S., London and other exotic locations.” Stream the trailer above.

Argylle‘s star-studded cast also features Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston and Ariana DeBose. The film will premiere in theaters on February 2, 2024, and land on Apple TV at an undetermined later date.

In other entertainment news, Michael Gandon, best known for playing Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films, has died at 82.
