It seems that while former US President Donald Trump is opting out of the Republican debates, he wants to debate a member of the British royal family (and for a very specific reason).

While we all remember when Ivanka Trump and Prince William chatted at Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan’s wedding to Rajwa Al Saif in June 2023, it seems Donald wants to have a chat himself with a member of the British royal family. But Donald doesn’t want a friendly, passing-by chat; he wants to straight-up debate Meghan Markle.

“Let’s set it up. Let’s go do something. I’d love to debate her. I would love it,” Donald said to Hugh Hewitt on Sept 6, via DailyMail. “I didn’t like the way she dealt with the Queen. I became very friendly with the Queen. She was an incredible woman. I think it’s not a good situation going on with the two of them, but I didn’t know that they don’t like me. Somebody mentioned it might be possible. They wouldn’t be the only ones.”

So, Donald wants to debate the Bench author on her relationship with her late grandmother-in-law. That was not on our 2023 Bingo card.

Now, Donald has spoken highly of the late Queen for quite some time, and even wrote an op-ed for her as a tribute to her after her death. And while he was President, he did visit the United Kingdom in June 2019. While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were still members of the royal family, Meghan skipped that visit for her maternity leave.

Along with that, Donald took the opportunity to throw a jab at President Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities in the same interview with Hewitt, claiming Elizabeth was “sharper” than Biden.

And Donald even claimed he was “not a fan” of Meghan’s, saying back in 2020, “I’m not a fan of hers.. I would say this – and she has probably has heard that – I wish a lot of luck to Harry because he’s going to need it,” per Newsweek.
