A child-free woman revealed how it's "selfish" to have kids.<\/p>\n

Chandler Carter grew up believing becoming a mum was the next step in life until she went to university. She saw child-free women "thriving".<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old realised it wasn't something she wanted and now spends her time travelling two to three times a year. She even splashes out on nice dinners.<\/p>\n

She would prefer to "regret" not having a child, than motherhood itself. The social media manager hopes to be child-free instead of having a "mini me".<\/p>\n

Chandler, from New York, US, said: "I want to be child-free. You can be happy. I'd rather regret not having children than having a child and regretting the role of being a mum.<\/p>\n

"I don't fault people for having children but the reasons are selfish. People want them to be a better parent than theirs were or because they want a mini me. Having a child is inherently selfish."<\/p>\n

Up until university Chandler thought she would go on to get married and have kids. She was always convinced she wanted two to three babies.<\/p>\n

But after seeing women thriving in their career, she saw all the possibilities of being child-free.<\/p>\n
