<\/p>\nSUMMER might be long gone but many parents will have memories of camping with their family.<\/p>\n
Though many of us might brave a few nights under the stars, one mum is living in a tent with her kids \u2013 and loves it!<\/p>\n
\n<\/p>\n
As you might expect Lucy Aura has a somewhat alternative lifestyle, despite being mum to two young kids.<\/p>\n
In fact, this self-confessed Yogi mamma regularly shares videos about her spiritual life on social media and has rapidly amassed over 12,000 followers on TikTok.<\/p>\n
Whilst many might believe her life is pretty blessed, it hasn\u2019t been easy for the mum-of-two who had to flee an abusive relationship with a previous partner.<\/p>\n
It came after years of what she claims was financial abuse, with her explaining in a lengthy video: \u201cI know I had to leave that relationship. I knew we were just playing out trauma dynamics.\u201d<\/p>\n
Like many people who suddenly find themselves homeless, Lucy struggled to find a safe home for her and her two kids.<\/p>\n With the rental market in crisis, the newly single mum then decided to move her family into a tent on land owned by a woman in her 70s.<\/p>\n Staying out in every element Australia can throw at them, the family have minimal furniture and get their electricity from a power cable that powers a heater and kettle.<\/p>\n Though she\u2019s had to adjust to a life living amongst strangers on the campsite, Lucy insists that she \u2018loves\u2019 living in the tent.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n In a video about her alternative lifestyle, the mum told her fans: \u201cThere is just such a ridiculous amount of emphasis on needing to have your own house for security while not feeling secure because your [landlord] can kick you out for any reason.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI feel pretty secure within myself if I was to rent a house now because I know that I could always be okay being homeless,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n Her connection to nature and others within the small community also kept her tethered to her alternative life, adding that she finally felt \u2018free\u2019.<\/p>\n She also doesn\u2019t need a lot to feel wealthy, just a dip in the nearby creek, with her saying: \u201cThe main thing that feels luxurious is to be within nature.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n In fact, Lucy has even sold off even more of their possessions after realizing she'd barely used possessions that she'd kept in storage.<\/p>\n Unsurprisingly, her lifestyle isn\u2019t for the faint hearted and many people have expressed concern about her simple life.<\/p>\n On one video, someone even commented: \u201cI understand the material items but everyone needs security, especially kids! A home is where you should be.<\/p>\n Some, however, want to recreate her off-grid life with many asking how she achieved the simple life.<\/p>\n \u201cMaybe not a tent but being able to almost live a hassle free life not filled with superficial bs or brainwashed on how to live\u2026yes please\u201d added another.<\/p>\n A third even recalled their similar upbringing: \u201cMy mum and I lived in a tent for a year, she remembers it as a time of hardship but for me it\u2019s one of my favourite childhood memories.\u201d<\/p>\n We wonder whether the kids will enjoy their off-grid lifestyle as teenagers? \u00a0<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/sb-names-241123.jpg\")
