Amy Dowden shares update on chemotherapy<\/h3>\n

Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden took to Instagram today to update her 599,000 followers on a concerning new side effect of her chemotherapy that could be \u201cirreversible\u201d.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old BBC star has been bravely updating her fans on her health battle after being diagnosed with breast cancer back in May.<\/p>\n

This morning, an ever-upbeat Amy shared a video from bed as she revealed her hopes about her future health, as well as her upcoming TV plans. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMorning everybody, How are we all on this Friday?\u201d she began. \u201cI\u2019m doing really well since last week\u2019s chemo. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had a few side effects and a new one this time – neuropathy in my right thumb and second finger,\u201d she revealed. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m hoping that it\u2019s going to go by next week because I know sometimes with this it\u2019s irreversible but fingers crossed it\u2019s going to be ok. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just like numbness – I can\u2019t feel or there\u2019s tingling sometimes – but mainly numbness. I literally can\u2019t feel the end of my thumb – so strange. <\/span><\/p>\n

According to the <\/span>NHS<\/span>, Peripheral neuropathy \u201cdevelops when nerves in the body’s extremities, such as the hands, feet and arms, are damaged\u201d and \u201cthe symptoms depend on which nerves are affected\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n
