Casualty trailer hints at Zoe Hanna’s return

Casualty is set to return with ‘exciting’ and dramatic storylines with Stevie Nash (played by Elinor Lawless) taking centre stage.

Show producer Jon Sen, who will be filming his last episodes as producer as he steps down from his long-running role, has teased the show’s upcoming plots will have fans of the BBC One medical drama glued to their screens.

“So my final episodes will go out in 2024 and we come back on towards the end of the year with a really exciting storyline,” he told Radio Times.

“[This] involves Stevie grappling with the PTSD she feels from her upbringing and that dovetails perfectly with an ongoing issue with the hospital.”

“So it’s a really exciting story that we’re telling over the next, kind of, three months and that comes back towards the end of the year,” he added.

The show has been off air since September 16, after it coincided with the launch of Strictly Come Dancing. Show bosses have not confirmed an official date, but said that the soap will be back “later this year”.

In upcoming episodes, current Strictly contestant Nigel Harman will make his last appearances as Dr Max Cristie.

Sen also revealed that there will also be “explosive” storylines for Dr Max, whose relationship with his daughter Jodie (Anna Chell) the producer has loved watching.

When asked about Max and Jodie’s future, he said: “All I can say about that is that it’s worth tuning in for because the excitement of that father-daughter relationship really comes to a head.
