<\/p>\nA PROFESSIONAL cleaner has spoken out on the problem with using toilet brushes and has gone as far as to say she would never own one herself.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Libby Wharton has her own cleaning business and often uses her social media accounts to share her top tips and tricks to keep the home spotless.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In one such video, she decided to reply to a comment, where someone told her: \u201cJust clean your toilet daily with a brush and let the magic happen\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n
But Libby disagreed with this piece of advice as she said: \u201cNo disrespect to you at all, I just want to bring your comment to everyone\u2019s attention\u2026<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, a toilet brush is possibly one of the most unhygienic household items you can ever have.\u201d<\/p>\n
She then shared a webpage revealing how sanitary it is on Google, which stated: \u201cYour brush can spread nasty germs each time you use it (yikes)!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Libby then claimed that any expert would advise you against having a toilet brush in the house.<\/p>\n \u201cJust think about it, okay,\u201d she went on. \u201cWho really cleans their toilet brush after every time they use it?<\/p>\n \u201cIf you do, you\u2019re probably lying. So what you\u2019re doing is cleaning all your faeces around your toilet bowl and you\u2019re putting it back in a pot on the side of your toilet.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n TikTok user @thecleanupcompany said that while you should avoid this product, there is an alternative you could use.\u00a0<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n She explained: \u201cIf you do like a toilet brush but you want a more hygienic alternative, you can use something like this\u2026\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Libby then displayed an image of a toilet brush with a disposable end that you can flush down the toilet.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cAnd before all you environmental do-gooders start coming in, it\u2019s the same as flushing the toilet roll down the toilet,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd before you start saying it\u2019s bad for the environment, just do me a favour and go and have look at how many plastic bottles you have in your bathroom. Then come at me, ok?\u201d<\/p>\n In the caption, she added: \u201cI\u00a0 would never own a toilet brush!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n While toilet brushes may not be hygienic, Duck has an alternative version with a disposable end, which can be bought for as little as \u00a33 from Ocado.\u00a0<\/p>\n It comes with four cleaning pads that can be flushed down the toilet once used.\u00a0<\/p>\n People were quick to comment on Libby\u2019s post as one person wrote: \u201cI\u2019m throwing mine out NOW!\u201d followed by a shocked face emoji.<\/p>\n Another argued: \u201cHonestly I do clean it every time I use it but I live alone and have too much time on my hands,\u201d followed by a crying with laughter emoji.<\/p>\n A third shared: \u201cI'm with you on this I don\u2019t own one and never have\u201d.<\/p>\n While a fourth chimed: \u201cI\u2019ve never owned a toilet brush & neither did my mum.
