A MAJOR supermarket already known as the UK's cheapest is slashing prices further.<\/p>\n
Aldi has reduced the cost of 55 essentials in the fruit and veg aisle, from apples to sprouts.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Golden Delicious and Granny Smith apples have been reduced from \u00a31.49 to \u00a31.29, a saving of 20p per 6-pack.<\/p>\n
A 500g bag of sprouts is now 95p instead of \u00a31.29, a 34p savings, and six organic bananas cost 10p less at \u00a31.19 instead of \u00a31.29<\/p>\n
The discount supermarket said it was the biggest round of price cuts it's made this year.<\/p>\n
Julie Ashfield, Aldi's managing director of buying for the UK said: \u201cOur promise to our customers is that we will always keep our prices as low as possible. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis latest price drop is part of our efforts to make healthy, high-quality groceries accessible to everyone. <\/p>\n

Aldi was named as the UK's cheapest supermarket last week by consumer group Which?,<\/p>\n
