For the first time ever, Zenith is offering its iconic Chronomaster Original model in a black tricolor dial. Since the conception of the A386 time-teller in 1969, the El-Primero-equipped chronograph has always featured a white dial base underneath the trio of subcounters in shades of gray and blue.

As a modern iteration of Zenith’s historical icon, the new reference upholds the overall proportions and silhouette of the original A386 model. Attired in a 38mm bezel-less case crafted from stainless steel, the watch is fitted with pump-style chronograph pushes, faceted lugs, as well as a mic of brushed and polished finishings.

Running inside the timepiece is the latest version of Zenith’s prized El Primero caliber, known as El Primero 3600. Beating at an astounding rate of 36,000 vibrations every hour, movement is geared with a 1/10th of second indication, complete with a 60-hour power reserve. Introduced as part of Zenith’s permanent collections, the new Chronomaster Original retails for $9,500 USD with a calfskin strap, while the steel bracelet version is priced at $10,000 USD. Both pieces are now available for purchase at Zenith’s website, boutiques, and authorized retailers worldwide.
