Following numerous MoonSwatch releases, Swatch has teamed up with another Swiss luxury watchmaker for another buzz-worthy collaboration. After dropping hints and teasers all over social media, it’s finally confirmed that Swatch and Blancpain are unveiling a brand-new Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms Collection.

Drawing inspiration from the planet’s oceans, the collection consists of a total of five references: ARCTIC OCEAN, PACIFIC OCEAN, ATLANTIC OCEAN, INDIAN OCEAN, and ANTARTIC OCEAN. Modeled after the Fifty Fathoms, Blancpain’s most celebrated and signature diver watch, the new watches are equipped with 300 meters of water resistance, easy-to-read dials, rotating bezels, anti-magnetic protection, all powered by Swatch’s SISTEM51 mechanical movement.

Featuring a Bioceramic build from the case, crown, bezel to pin buckle, the watches all come with striped NATO straps in complementing colors. With a case diameter of 42.3mm, and 14.55mm in thickness, the collection features gradient dial plates, where its hands, indices, and 60 minutes diving scale are all coated in Grade A Super-LumiNova®.

On the caseback, the time-tellers are outfitted with full-color digital prints of Nudibranchs (soft-bodied marine gastropod mollusks) that are unique to each of the oceans. The color palette for each of the references is also determined by the natural hues of its dedicated Nudibranch. The ARCTIC OCEAN watch arrives in a beige and orange look that’s inspired by the soft, and subtly-shaped Dendronotus Frondosus. The PACIFIC OCEAN features a high-contrast yellow and black color scheme that derives from the Chromodoris Kuiteri.

Meanwhile, the ATLANTIC OCEAN boasts a blue and dark blue colorway that nods to the Glaucus Atlanticus, which also goes by the name of Blue Dragon. Green and Black make up the basis for the INDIAN OCEAN timepiece, complete with striking accents of orange to recreate the unique appearance of the Nembrotha Kubaryana. As for the white and gray ANTARTIC OCEAN piece, it draws on the hues as seen on the Tritoniella Belli, while also encapsulating the region’s icy allure.

Retailing for around $400 USD, the Blancpain x Swatch Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms collection will be a non-limited release. Starting September 9, it will be readily available at select stores around the world. For more information on participating stores, visit Swatch’s official website.
