A MUM has hit back at trolls who called her a "bit council" for the food she's giving her kids.

Nikki regularly shares videos of how she's coping during the cost of living crisis, and how she feeds her family within her budget.

She recently posted a clip showing what she'd spent in Aldi to create lunches for four people for a week for £10.

The meals created included chorizo pizza wraps and homemade chips, jacket potato with beans and fish finger sandwiches.

While the majority of people praised Nikki for sharing her videos, one was unimpressed, writing: "Vile browny orange c**p.

"At least chuck a few apples, cucumber, peas or carrots in.

"It's a bit council."

Hitting back at the troll in another video, Nikki began: "A lot of people live on council estates and live in council houses, I have all of my entire life – it doesn't make anyone less of a person, less worthy of anything.

"I do hate when people use this term – 'it's a bit council' – as if it's automatically a degrading thing.

"As if everyone who lives in a council property or lives on a council estate are less worthy of things or are worse than everybody else.

</picture>

</picture>

</picture>

</picture>

"And it's just not the case.

"And it just irritates me so much that everybody gets a name for themselves based on where they grew up.

"A lot of people do not have the option where they're born or brought up."

Nikki added that people need to remember that those who are struggling to feed their families barely have any choice as to what they give them.

"They don't want to live like that," she continued.

"They're not happy living in that way and struggling all the time.

"So to use the term as if it's degrading another person that doesn't want to live like that anyway… you should have more sympathy and understanding rather than belittling struggling people that are just trying to do their best.

"If all a person can afford is £10 to make sure that them and their children are fed a lunch – one meal – every single day for an entire week, then that's an amazing parent, to make sure that they are fed.

"Yes, it might not be the most nutritious or the best quality but they are filling their bellies and some people that might have to go to food banks and get jars and tins, and non-perishable items, might not have the luxury of even going to pick what meals they want each week."

Concluding her video, Nikki fumed: "I just really wish people would think about what they write before they actually start writing but I guess they don't care."

And to the troll, she added: "I hope that you become more humble and yeah, it's really sad.

"I feel sorry for you."

People quickly took to the comments section to voice their support for Nikki, with one writing: "You’re doing amazing, people are so judgey. You're helping people."

"The amount of us that are struggling at the moment – your videos are incredible helpful," another added.

"You do what you do to get your kids fed at the end of the day!" a third wrote.

"Love your videos."

"GREAT RESPONSE," someone else commented.

"Saying you didn't particularly want to reply, you just wanted people to see it. That was enough, you're doing fab."

Sue Radford's 'feud' with Millie ends as she wishes her a happy birthday
