You can channel Cameron Diaz in The Holiday in a UK stay inspired by the film

If The Holiday is one of your favourite Christmas films and you've always been envious of Cameron Diaz 's dreamy cottage stay, we may have found the UK getaway of your dreams.

Cosy idyllic cottage? Check. Picture-perfect British countryside? Check. Jude Law turning up at your door in the middle of the night? Probably not… but it's nice to dream.

Independent Cottages is offering up a free stay in the charming Farthing Cottage in the Cotswolds and although it's not the one that inspired the film's version , it comes pretty close!

We're talking a roaring log burning fireplace, plus sofas, and even stone floors and wooden beams for a rustic chic feel.

The cottage will be open for stays in December, at which point it will be decked out in festive decorations so you can really indulge in celebrating the festive season.

Oh, and there's a TV and DVD player if you do want to watch The Holiday to fully immerse yourself into the story.

Then there's the nearby town of Stow-on-the-Wold where you'll find plenty off gastropubs and charming restaurants, not to mention the countless walking trails if you're looking to explore the surroundings and make the most of the fresh air.

Sound like your kind of break?

You can book stays at Farthing Cottage from £90 per night , although there is currently a free three-day minibreak up for grabs!

In the film, Cameron Diaz escapes to Britain to nurse a broken heart – so Independent Cottages is only offering up a stay to someone who is also looking to get over a break up.

After all, it's a pretty idyllic setting if you're looking to get away for a bit (or even meet your own Jude Law, who knows!).

Oh, and there will also be extra treats for guests including a bottle of fizz and a box of chocolates upon arrival.

To enter the competition, all you need to do is head to the Independent Cottages website and share your story of heartbreak. You'll need to enter by Monday 25th November 2019 when the competition ends.
