Heads up, European travelers: You can add a few more destinations to your itinerary if you’re traveling via the Eurail Global Pass this year.
The Eurail Global Pass will now include Great Britain, Lithuania and Macedonia, allowing unlimited train travel in 31 countries.
Travelers will have more flexible options via the service this year. They could pick a “flexi pass,” which features 3, 5 or 7 days of unlimited travel within a month; a 10 or 15-day travel pass to use within 2 months (consecutive or non-consecutive days); or a “continuous pass” which works for 15 or 22 travel days.
The Eurail Global Passes are also 37 percent cheaper in 2019. For 31 countries, a pass for three days within one month costs $274.
Also in 2019, seniors (age 60+) will receive 10 percent off on Eurail Global Pass or Eurail One Country Pass first and second-class tickets.
Rail Europe also previewed several other travel options coming this year, including direct routes between France and the Netherlands and a Switzerland Berner Oberland pass.
