Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have given royal fans a glimpse into their lives and relationship in their bombshell Netflix documentary, showing off their first "tiny" home of Nottingham Cottage.
Following their wedding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved into Nottingham Cottage, which is on the grounds of Kensington Palace.
Discussing the cottage in their new documentary, Harry says: "As far as people were concerned we were living in a palace, and we were, but in a cottage."
"We were living on palace grounds" the couple explain, as Meghan adds: "Kensington Palace sounds very regal. Of course it does, it says 'palace' in the name, but Nottingham Cottage was so small."
Harry then adds that the "whole thing's on a slight lean" and it has "really low ceilings" as he jokes: "I don't know who it was for but they must have been very short."
This caused something of an issue for Harry, with Meghan explaining: "He would hit his head constantly in that place cause he's so tall."
Describing their post-wedding life, Meghan continues: "Me with a hoe, and H varnishing. It was just a chapter in our lives where I don't think anyone could believe what it was actually like behind the scenes."
The couple the reveal that Oprah Winfrey came over for tea and was rather shocked at the royal couple's everyday life.
Recalling her reaction, Harry says: "When she came in she sat down and she goes 'no one would ever believe it.'"
A rather sweet clip from their time at Nottingham Cottage sees Meghan playfully dancing in the doorway while kitted out in country-style gear, consisting of a Barbour gilet and walking boots, as husband Harry watched from afar.
He gushed: “Oh My god. It's my favourite video, Thursday afternoon, someone's happy.”
Various other snaps shared of their time at the cottage see the couple doing spots of gardening, along with one that showed Meghan in a burgundy dress ahead of date night, and another of Harry in his military uniform, joking around.
Following their later move to Frogmore Cottage, others were still left somewhat shocked at the couple's rather down-to-earth lifestyle.
The couple's nanny Lorren described her surprise when first seeing the prince: "When I arrived at Frogmore Cottage, I see this guy, he's tall, he's ginger, and he's walking barefoot. And I have gone and bought a new pair of shoes in Clarks.
"And suddenly, whatever I thought or felt, the formality just sort of slid and I felt so at ease. They were really hands-on parents."
