Timothée Chalamet Brought Bagels for His Fans at The King's Premiere

November 1 fast approaches, meaning that the world will soon be able to marvel at more than hour's worth of footage of Timothée Chalamet with a bowl cut. Even Chalamet, who made the chop for his titular role as Henry V in Netflix's The King, won't pretend it wasn't something of a sacrifice: "At first it was anxiety-inducing, but then it was like, nah, this has to be done," he told Variety at the film's New York City premiere on Tuesday night. "Or else you can kind of see those period movies, without shading anybody, but where they didn’t fully, you know, you didn’t know what they were going for, and hopefully this is not that."

Perhaps as an apology to his legions of fans—a significant portion of whom stood outside of the premiere, eagerly awaiting a glimpse of the(ir) king—Chalamet granted one of their wishes on Tuesday. Two weeks ago, when Chalamet first tweeted the news that he he would be in New York City, a Twitter user with the handle @elioschalamets replied with a request that the actor to bring bagels to the premiere. It only got 77 likes, and yet it managed not to escape Chalamet's attention, even though he has nearly 540,000 followers and his tweet had garnered more than 1,600 replies.

Chalamet initially replied with "lol imagine," though tellingly deleted his response, apparently hoping to maintain an element of surprise when he did indeed follow instructions and come through with bagels on Tuesday night, even jumping the fence to distribute them to his fans. There weren't nearly enough for everyone, though no one seemed to mind. In fact, Chalamet himself appeared just as gleeful as those who shrieked in response—not to mention the person who waited 12 hours for him to arrive.
