These are the most Instagram-worthy A-frame cabins on HomeAway

They were popular in the 1950s and 1960s. Now A-frame cabins are having a resurgence just in time for leaf-peeping season.

“Their very appearance reminds people of the lakeside getaways of their childhoods,” says Melanie Fish,  a travel expert at HomeAway, an online vacation rental marketplace. “Also, the interiors tend to be wide open, inviting families to reconnect over jigsaw puzzles and conversation.”

HomeAway has many A-frame homes for rent. They typically go for $100 to $200 a night. Cabins with more amenities and space can rent for about $500 a night. Most sleep two to four people, but some can sleep up to 14.
