Christmas wreaths

Average price: £25

Christmas wreaths prove to be most popular on Instagram with 651,242 hashtags.

This classic festive favourite makes a wonderful decoration for your front door and lasts for up to five weeks.

Make your own with traditional ivy and holly, or why not customise your wreath with a loved one’s favourite foliage and flowers for a personalised present?

Alternatively, you can buy a fresh Christmas wreath for around £25.

Mistletoe

Average price: £22

Mistletoe is the second favourite Christmas plant on Instagram with 529,824 hashtags.

This festive plant takes a few years to grow, so consider buying fresh sprigs or a small potted mistletoe for about £22.

After it’s been harvested, mistletoe will last for up to three weeks, so it’s best used for festive decoration – and you might just receive a kiss or two.

Amaryllis

Average price: £15

Amaryllis takes the third spot in Instagram’s favourite festive plants with 517,489 hashtags.

Colourful, easy to care for and blooms in time for Christmas day, this houseplant makes the perfect present.

Amaryllis can also rebloom if you save the bulbs until next year. You can buy the bulbs for approximately £15 online.

Poinsettia

Average price: £19

A traditional choice, the poinsettia is another festive favourite with 338,382 Instagram hashtags.

With bright red bracts and green leaves, poinsettias are also star-shaped, giving that ultimate Christmas feel.

The eye-catching colours really stand out in December, plus they bloom year after year, making poinsettias perfect for decoration or as gifts.
