Starbucks is selling a ‘snowy CHEESE’ latte in China as part of its holiday menu – and the chain says it’s NOT cheesecake-flavored

Starbucks offers a lot of different drinks and treats in Asian countries that can’t be found in the US or Europe — and often, that’s a cause for envy.
But this holiday season, Starbucks in China are selling one seasonal drink that the rest of the world will likely be happy to pass on.
For a limited time, customers can buy a ‘Snowy Cheese Flavored Latte,’ which is made with espresso and a ‘baked cheese’ flavor.

Well that’s new! A representative confirmed ‘that the cheese referenced in the drink description is, in fact, cheese and not something cheesecake-related’
The brand announced some of its new international drinks this week, and some of them are familiar favorites, like the Caramel Brulee Latte and the Gingerbread Latte.
Others, not available in the US or Europe, are sure to spark envy, like the Dark Cherry Mocha in Latin American and the Caribbean, the Speculoos Latte in Asia, and even the Christmas Strawberry Cake Milk in Japan.
The latter is made with steamed milk, strawberry compote, and white mocha syrup, and finished with whipped cream, strawberry topping, and crushed biscuit on top.
But China’s special drink is a bit more baffling.

‘A dreamy new holiday beverage made with baked cheese flavored sauce blended into classic espresso and topped with light whipped cream, blueberry flavored sprinkles and star-shaped crisps,’ reads the description.
While one might assume that ‘snowy cheese’ is another way to describe something cheesecake-flavored, Daily Coffee News confirmed with a rep for Starbucks ‘that the cheese referenced in the drink description is, in fact, cheese and not something cheesecake-related.’
Last month, the Chicago Tribune reported on the phenomenon of ‘cheese tea,’ the popularity of which seems to come from China or Taiwan.
But those drinks are made with ‘whipped, airy cheesecake-flavored foam made from milk, cream cheese and salt, and a clear fragrant tea upon which the froth floats.’
