Reddit users mortified as hen do party ‘beg’ for free drinks from strangers

Planning a wedding can be stressful, but at least you can finally have that stag/hen do you've always dreamed of.

And the fun part of those celebrations is that you're letting everyone know that you're about to get married.

While it's common for well-wishers to buy the bride a drink or two, one woman from the bridal party has been slammed for it.

That's because she was "begging" for freebies – and Reddit users weren't really keen on the idea when it was shared.

Posting on the Wedding Shaming forum, one user joked they spotted a "trashy" bridal party "in the wild".

In the thread, the woman posted a photo of the car carrying the hen party.

On the back of the black 4×4, the hens had written: "Last fling before the ring! Buy the bride a drink. Thanks."

They then shared her Venmo account which allows people to transfer money through the phone app.

One user wrote: "We saw this on a bridal party's sashes while on vacation a couple of weeks ago.

"We requested money instead of sending it. The look on their faces was priceless."

Meanwhile another added: "I saw one of these for the first time in a Disney shaming group this week. Ultimate in tacky!"

Others believed the act was just a form of "begging".

Fortunately some did see the funny side of the hen party, with one claiming they had "no issues with this".

The user continued: "This trend is growing on me. At least it's for a celebratory event!"
