Mum’s recipe for Malteser cake which you don’t need cook or chill wows foodies

A mum's simple recipe to make a Malteser cake has wowed foodies.

The recipe for the sweet treat, which you don't need cook or chill, has been causing a meltdown online.

To make the cake, you just need a bag of Maltesers, Digestive biscuits, golden syrup and some white chocolate.

Explaining how to bake the delicious dessert, one mum uploaded a tutorial to Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, where it’s gone viral – being liked hundreds of times.

She said: “Crush up the digestive biscuits and Maltesers in a bowl.

“Melt the butter and golden syrup and add to the bowl, mix well."

She continued: “Spread out evenly in a tray. Melt the white chocolate and spread out evenly.

“Blend a handful of Maltesers and sprinkle all over. Add chocolate buttons.

“Leave on the side overnight to set and cut up the next day.

The mum said if you put the cake in the fridge it makes the chocolate too hard, and it will crack.

While she used chocolate buttons in her version, you can always top yours with more Malteser balls.
