40 and Fab: From “Keeping Up” with her fitness routine to dressing for her body and lathering up on moisturizer, FEMAIL reveals the star’s secrets to looking better than ever

When she’s not covered up in cozy sweatsuits, Kim is the queen of dressing for her body.

From the red carpet to the street, the reality star gravitates to fashions that hug and highlight her best assets, including that famous derriere.

Voluminous cuts in unforgiving fabrics can add inches to one’s appearance.

Kim avoids this by defining her hourglass frame in second-skin fashions made of lycra, spandex, stretch cotton and even latex.

Her two pregnancies didn’t even derail her fondness for tight clothes and stilettos.

In fact, instead of concealing her burgeoning belly, she embraced it with stretchy bump-baring separates.

The beauty mogul’s uniform consisted of a body hugging midi dress, topped by a duster coat and accessorized with high heel sandals.

When she’s not turning heads and setting trends in neon, she flatters her hourglass figure in neutrals from head-to-toe.

By layering different hues of the same understated shade, she creates a simple and sleek look that lets her hot bod to do all the talking.

Mrs. West is almost never seen in chunky footwear that overpowers and takes away from her, instead she favors dainty shoes in the form of thin strappy sandals, PVC pumps and high heel T- strap flip-flops that go unnoticed.

She opts for styles in her skin tone that visually lengthen the look of her legs.

Foundation: Underneath her body-hugging clothes? Shapewear that smooths

Underneath her body-hugging clothes? Shapewear that smooths!

Long before she founded her multi-million dollar solutionwear company Skims, the mom of four was rocking underpinnings that sucked and tucked, creating a flawless foundation.

‘I feel like I’ve been designing shapewear for 15 years,’ she told the Daily Mail.

‘I literally have been, every time I travel I bring sets of shapewear with scissors, and a needle and thread, because I’ve always been particular.’

Beyond smoothing out any bumps and creating a flawless finish, ‘I use shapewear as my lining, my slip,’ said the fashionista.

Unlike many women who don a traditional slip under a semi-sheer dress, committed to flattering her figure, Kim dons a shapewear jumpsuit to allow the silhouette of her legs to be seen.

‘I like sheer but I don’t want it fully lined cause it takes away from it. I use shapewear as my normal bra and underwear. It’s my every day. I feel secure it in, it’s a part of my clothes.’

She wears solutionwear every day, but she doesn’t rely on it.

‘Body confidence for me isn’t just about masking it,’ she revealed. ‘I want to eat healthy and motivate myself.’

Put in the work: Kim is committed to her fitness routine and works out 6 days a week for 60 to 90 minutes

Kim is committed to her fitness routine and works out 6 days a week for 60 to 90 minutes.

Trainer Melissa Alcantara has been quoted saying that Kim never cancels.

She credits the mogul’s determination to her drive. ‘She’s like, “I have to work out, this is part of my life.” It’s all about the mindset.’

‘She knows what it takes, but it’s also really grueling. It’s heavy, it’s killer, but she’ll be like, ‘Alright, let’s do it!’ She’s a workhorse.,’ Melissa told People.

’85 percent of our training is weight training, and the other 15 is made up of cardio.’

Healthy living: Kim has stated that she and her kids eat a mostly plant-based diet (with the occasional cheat, i.e In-and-Out milkshakes!). Pictured: Eat Sunny offers fresh, healthy chef-prepared meals made to work for you

Eating healthy is very important to Kim. She learned from Melissa that intake is all about portion control, and for the results she wants she can only eat fresh food.

Kim has stated that she and her kids eat a mostly plant-based diet (with the occasional cheat, i.e In-and-Out milkshakes!).

Some of the KKW Beauty founder’s favorite recipes include vegan tacos, plant-based hamburgers, oatmeal, salad, vegan sausage, avocado toast, and sweet potato hash.

A delivery service like Eat Sunny (not Kim’s) offers chef-prepared meals that are vegetarian and flexitarian.

On occasion Kim will have an alcoholic beverage but it’s rare. She told Andy Cohen on an episode of Watch What Happens Live in 2017 that her lack of drinking is a result of being older sister Kourtney’s designated driver growing up.

No frizz: Regardless of her hairstyle, the media personality likes her mane looking healthy and shiny

Regardless of her hairstyle, the media personality likes her mane looking healthy and shiny.

Her long-time stylist Chris Appleton revealed that the first step to healthy locks is using sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner.

Kim has admitted to only shampooing twice a week to keep her hair from drying out.

After washing Chris recommends a cold rinse of water. ‘This will seal the cuticle and really start to make the hair shine. This is also a good tip when you want to avoid damage from hair dye,’ he said.

The third step is drenching the hair in Color Wow’s Dream Coat which gives a protective seal against humidity and leaves a glossy finish.

In place of a flat iron, Chris blow-drys Kim’s hair on a low-heat setting using a natural boar-bristle paddle brush. For ultimate hydration, he finishes with a drop of hair oil.

When she’s not filming Kim uses at-home hair masks to strengthen and condition her strands.

Chris suggests adopting a once-weekly masking ritual. Kim has said that one of her favorites is Carol’s Daughter Monoi Hair Mask.

Trailblazer: The origins of many beauty trends can be traced back to Kim Kardashian

KKW Beauty: To cover her dark under eye circles, Kim swears by her Conceal, Bake, Brighten kits. But insists that it’s less about the products themselves and more about the process

Essential: With one of her dark KKW Beauty contour sticks, Kim draws a line down the side of her cheeks, then up to the hairline, then back to the cheek and then down to the jawline in a “3” formation

The origins of many beauty trends can be traced back to Kim Kardashian. She broke the internet when she posted a picture of herself with contouring stripes all over her face in 2012.

She tweeted a before-and-after photo of herself pre-and post-contour by then makeup artist Scott Barnes.

From that moment on, millions were attempting to create razor-sharp cheekbones like their makeup muse.

With one of her dark KKW Beauty contour sticks, Kim draws a line down the side of her cheeks, then up to the hairline, then back to the cheek and then down to the jawline in a “3” formation.

She then draws down the sides of her nose and at the tip to make it look ‘so cute and little’. She favors a short forehead, to create it, she blends the contour well at the hairline.

Why use just one: A self-proclaimed messy mascara girl, she likes it to look clumpy and messy, so she doesn’t rely on just one to do the trick. ‘It’s good to layer and mix mascaras,’ she says

To cover her dark under eye circles, Kim swears by her Conceal, Bake, Brighten kits. But insists that it’s less about the products themselves and more about the process.

First “conceal” with a liquid concealer, then “bake” with a loose powder, then “brighten” with a solid powder. Kim says ‘she couldn’t live without it.’

Dramatic eye makeup is one of Kim’s signature looks.

When she doesn’t have a lot of time to get ready, she uses bronzer as eye shadow saying ‘it gives you a warm feeling so you look alive’ and she always lines her under eye.

‘I need my under eyes always smoked because I think I look really naked without it, so regardless, even if I’m doing a light look I just always smoke it with contour.’

To achieve fuller, longer lashes she first curls them with her preferred tool by Troy Surratt going as close as possible to her lash line.

Lancome Hypnôse mascara and Charlotte Tilbury legendary Lashes are two of her faves.

As much as the beauty junkie loves piling on the makeup, she never goes to bed with any of it on. She told Allure that her go-to face wipes are the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes.

Kim claims that good skin starts with moisturizer.

Even after applying moisturizer (usually La Mer) in the morning, she will reapply before putting on her makeup. ‘I like an oily slip for the foundation,’ she said.

‘To combat wrinkles, you should begin using products that contain retinol,’ she revealed on her app.

‘When using a retinoid, you must wear sunscreen every day. And, because the skin around the eyes is the thinnest and first to show signs of aging, it’s also important to introduce a moisturizing eye cream to your skin regimen.’

For an even complexion she turns to microdermabrasion.

‘Microdermabrasion is such a good treatment option for anyone with sun damage, discoloration, acne scars and other blemishes,’ she revealed on her app.

‘I love doing this type of treatment during the spring and summer, as the sun can be SO damaging to the skin. This at-home tool deeply exfoliates the top layer of your skin to reveal brighter and smoother skin.’

This type of skin rejuvenation is performed in a professional medical setting. It treats light scarring, discoloration, sun damage and stretch marks.

The birthday girl doesn’t just focus on her face.

To reduce the risk of cellulite, she applies body oil before a workout. She revealed to her followers on Snapchat that it firms skin, prevents wrinkles and leaves skin extremely moisturized.

One of her favorites is Blue Lagoon Silica Bath & Body Oil.
