When Kim Kardashian steps out, we know that she planned the ensemble and aimed to tick all of the style boxes.

Well, for the 2021 Met Gala, the reality star didn't hold back in wearing a questionable look as she sported a head-to-toe black outfit and we're just as conflicted as you are.

The all black look is by designer Balenciaga who the Kardashians work closely with, and we're still in slight shock that The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star would opt for such different style – the outfit might be plain, but it definitely makes a bold statement.

As if this wasn't enough to ponder on, Kim showed up alongside a male who was dressed in a matching full black bodysuit.

Many rushed to believe that the mystery man was her ex-husband Kanye West who she separated from earlier this year.

However, it is also possible that it was the designer of the striking look, Demna Gvasalia.

Fans quickly took to Twitter to share their opinions on the look as one posted saying: "Met gala is just another fancy dress thing where kim kardashian has dressed like dementor from harry potter."

Another shared: "Kim Kardashian looking stunning at the #MetGala cosplaying what seems to be the bathroom sign."

As a third followed with "Kim Kardashian was literally a Shadow at the #MetGala".

The full look comprised of a black bodysuit with a long sleeve dress over the top and of course, this being Kim, included some drama with not only one but two cascading trains that followed her up the stairs.

Whilst we can't see her face, the 40 year old kept it simple and styled the look with her signature long ponytail.

We're so used to Kim serving up fierce looks with her beauty, that you can be rest assured that she meant business with this ensemble.

Kim Kardashian to Harry Styles – here are the most popular Met Gala outfits to date

Before taking to the stairs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday 13 September evening, Kim caused quite the stir at the New York Fashion Week in another head-to-toe black leather ensemble, which also hid her face.

This outfit was once again by the high fashion label Balenciaga, and we're wondering what the message of this look could be?
