DEAR DEIDRE: MY wife used to be fun – we had plenty of sex and she was full of love for me.
Now I can’t stand her nagging and complaining. I’m beginning to resent her.
I am 36, she’s 35 and makes every excuse under the sun to avoid sex. She is “too tired” or “not in the mood”. When we do have sex, it is a quickie.
To give her credit, she helped me get over depression and encouraged me to join the gym.
I am now fit and slim, but she is content to stay scruffy, fat and slobby.
When I see a sexy, fit woman at the gym, I am tempted to trade my wife in for a new model.

DEIDRE SAYS: Your wife supported you through a bad patch and she needs your support right now.
I doubt she is really content with how things are. Having little interest in herself and her appearance, and always feeling tired, suggests she too may be struggling with depression.
Urge her to talk to her GP. Tell her you love her and ask what changes you can make, in and out of the bedroom, to help her feel more in the mood for loving.
My e-leaflet on Different Sex Drives will help too.
