Thanksgiving is here, and with it comes turkey, pumpkin pie and TV time for the whole family.
If your family doesn’t watch football, there are plenty of other Turkey Day offerings for all ages.
Here’s what to look for:
“92nd Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” (9 a.m. on NBC and CBS)
Looking to check out the floats while avoiding the crowds? Curl up with a mug of hot chocolate and watch the parade from the comfort of your couch. It’s running between 9 a.m. and noon — on both CBS and NBC — so it works for both family members who rise early and those who are night owls.
“The National Dog Show” (noon on NBC)
If a political argument breaks out, just flip to NBC, as dogs are the ultimate peacemaker. Fancy dogs, cute dogs — find (and judge) them all on the National Dog Show, hosted by John O’Hurley, David Frei and Mary Carillo.
All ten seasons of the classic sitcom are streaming on Netflix — including the classic Thanksgiving episode, “The One With All The Thanksgivings.” It’s the eighth episode of Season 5, where Joey (Matt LeBlanc) gets his head stuck in a turkey.
“Chimpsgiving” (BBC America)
BBC America is having a “Chimpsgiving” marathon with a full day of chimp-themed programming, culminating with the premiere of “Chimp Sanctuary” at 9 p.m., hosted by Sue Perkins (“The Great British Bake Off”). The show follows chimps in the US National Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Louisiana, where six ex-lab female chimps meet male chimps for the first time. It’s followed at 10 p.m. by “Chimps of the Lost Gorge,” following the animals in a Ugandan forest.
“Mary Poppins Returns: Behind the Magic” ( 8 p.m. on ABC)
This special edition of “20/20” looks at the upcoming sequel to the 1964 classic. The new version stars Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda, and this marks their first primetime TV interviews about the project. The special also features a conversation between Miranda and original “Mary Poppins” star Dick Van Dyke, who’s now 92 (and is also appearing in “Mary Poppins Returns.”)
“The Christmas Contract” ( 8 p.m. on Lifetime)
Hilarie Burton (“One Tree Hill”) stars in this new Lifetime movie which has all the staples of a cheesy holiday TV flick: an unresolved circumstance with an ex, a small town where they meet again and an elaborate fake dating scheme.
“The iHeartRadio Music Festival Night 2” (8 p.m. on The CW)
This two-hour special originally aired Oct 8. But if you missed it — or if you just want music playing on your TV to create some Thanksgiving ambiance — now’s your chance. It’s the second part of a Las Vegas event hosted by Ryan Seacrest and featuring music from Panic! At the Disco, Mariah Carey, Sean Mendes and more.
“MasterChef Junior: Celebrity Showdown” (8 p.m. on Fox)
In this two-hour special, celebrities in the culinary battle include Terrence Howard (“Empire”), Eric Stonestreet (“Modern Family”), Alyson Hannigan (“How I Met Your Mother”) and Lil Rel Howery (“Rel”).
“Meghan’s New life: The Real Princess Diaries,” (9 p.m. on ABC)
Good news for those who have royal fever: a new one-hour special is airing on Thursday, covering former “Suits” star Meghan Markle’s adjustment to life as the Duchess of Sussex. Those interviewed in the special include Alastair Bruce, who helped Markle design her new coat of arms, Victoria Murphy, the royal contributor to “Good Morning America,” Andrew Morton, author of “Meghan: A Hollywood Princess” and others.
