The ticket-holder now becomes the fourth largest lottery winner in the country.

There is no indication yet as to where the winning ticket was purchased.

Ten people also became millionaires after winning in the special New Year’s draw.

Organisers have urged participants to check their numbers.

The winning numbers are 1, 8, 11, 25 and 28. The lucky stars are 4 and 6.

Tonight’s Thunderball numbers are 2, 24, 32, 33 and 36. The Thunderball is 5.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said, "What a start to 2019 for UK EuroMillions players – a single ticketholder has banked the entire £114.9M EuroMillions jackpot and become the fourth biggest winner this country has ever seen.

"As if that wasn’t enough, a further ten UK players have each banked £1M in the special New Year’s Day draw. All players are urged to check their tickets to see if they are a big winner and can turn 2019 into one long celebration.

"By buying a ticket for EuroMillions or any other National Lottery game, every player is helping to raise money for Good Causes.

"On average, around £30 million is raised every week for projects across the UK, both big and small, including funding everything from local community projects to the nation’s athletes.”
