Asda launches a huge toy sale including LOL Surprise and Lego – and a deal-stacking trick will save you up to 55 per cent

The supermarket's home department, George, is offering mums and dads between 10 and 20 per cent off if they spend a certain amount – and you can use the offer to slash the price of already-reduced toys.

The online-only toy sale offer works on popular children's toys, including LOL Surprise and Lego.

If you spend £50 or more, you will receive 10 per cent off, while you'll bag a 15 per cent discount if you spend £75 or more.

The top discount of 20 per cent off will apply if you spend £100 or more on toys.

The discount will be automatically applied to your basket once you spend over the sale limit.

How to find the cheapest deals

  • Find the cheapest online prices: Google Shopping is a good tool for finding the cheapest price – it searches a wide range of retailers of various sizes
  • Abandon online shopping baskets: Don't go straight to check-out after putting the items in your basket – it may tease retailers into giving you discount codes
  • Ask a site to negotiate a fee for you: If you're struggling to find a deal, Flubit is a free site that aims to negotiate discounts for you
  • Sign up to retailers' newsletters for big discounts: It sometimes means a percentage discount code, or a straight discount off your first shop
  • Check when stores discount groceries: Check with your local store when they discount food items that are about to expire – this is the perfect time to nab bargains

On its website, Asda says the sale will run until stocks last on selected lines. We've asked the supermarket exactly when the sale will end and we will update this story when we hear back.

Make sure you don't spend more than you would if the offer wasn't available just because there's a deal on.

You should also shop around because you can pick up some toys cheaper elsewhere.

George, for example, is offering a rare 15 per cent discount on a LOL Surprise toy, which brings the price down from £85 to £72.25.

But you can pick up the toy for even cheaper at Smyths where it's on sale for £69.99.
