As a teenager, I got the courage from you to seek help for my depression

When I wrote to you, I got the encouragement I needed to speak to somebody and I’m getting on so much better.

I’m a girl of 17. My parents have never been sympathetic towards anyone suffering with depression.

You asked me if something had happened and I admitted I’d felt this down since I lost my grandmother.

You told me to tell my school how I felt, helped me find proper counselling and told me about Cruse Bereavement Care’s youth line (0808 808 1677, hopeagain.org.uk).

I was incredibly stressed and it made all the difference. Thank you.

DEIDRE SAYS: I am so glad you found the courage to talk about how you felt.

There is help out there for just about every worry you can have.

What’s crucial is saying how you feel and asking for support.
