Mum shares how to make cheap and easy mini pizzas using breakfast muffins

Pizza is great, but isn’t it even better when you have one all to yourself?

One mum has come up with an easy way to have individual pizzas with whatever toppings you want.

Kim from Australia made eight small versions of the Italian staple, using English muffins.

The best part is the items only take a few minutes to cook if you have an air fryer.

While Kim used a  3-in-1 air fryer from Kmart (which we don’t have in the UK), you can use any other brand of air fryer.

Or those who don’t have the electronic can always bung the items in the oven and wait for them to cook.

Using muffins instead of buying dough or making the dough yourself is not only convenient, but it works out to be cheaper.

For example, you can buy a four-pack from Iceland for 79p and use each side of the muffin as an individual base.

And it allows people to add their own toppings. So anyone who wants to add pineapple to theirs can go off and enjoy.

Ingredients:

  • English muffins
  • Tomato paste
  • Cheese
  • Toppings of choice

Method:

  • Slice the English muffins (or use pre-cut ones)
  • Paste tomato puree over each slice
  • Add in toppings
  • Cook in the air fryer for seven minutes at 180 degrees Celsius

Some of the toppings that Kim added for herself and her five-year-old daughter included salami, bacon, pineapple, sliced onion and cheese.

Kim shared her recipe on an Australian Facebook page where users said they had either tried it or were keen to do so.

One person wrote: ‘I used to do these under the grill as an after school snack, these were the best!’

Another said: ‘Oh yum, I would not have thought of that, looks great’.

A third added: ‘Looks delicious, I just have to find a gluten-free base and give it a go.’
