There’s no denying that May has been a washout, but it looks like June is shaping up to be a little warmer.
To get us in the mood for the balmy days to (hopefully) come, M&S has brought out a new product that merges two of our summer favourites – afternoon tea and frozen desserts.
The supermarket has unveiled a new cream tea ice cream.
Made up of vanilla ice cream, sweet strawberry sauce and airy sponge pieces, the summery delight is guaranteed to be a hit with sweet tooths.
The arrival comes in at £2.75 for a 900ml tub and has landed alongside two other new ice cream flavours.
There’s a chocolate millionaires variety that’s hitting shelves, made with a base of chocolate and caramel, plus caramel sauce swirls and crunchy biscuit pieces.
Alongside a lemon meringue ice cream, made with lemon curd, crispy meringue and biscuit pieces.
Both of which sound heavenly.
There’s also a Percy Pig ice cream to try, made up of Neapolitan-style sections of vanilla with ripples of fruity sauce and fluffy marshmallows on top.
It’s worth pointing out that this is a revamped version of the popular 2020 tub, which was a hit during the first national lockdown.
It looks like M&S is pulling out all the stops when it comes to edible treats this summer.
Earlier in the year, the retailer brought out some new chocolate s’mores that can be grilled on the BBQ. So if burgers and hot dogs aren’t your thing, this is a sweet alternative.
And let’s not forget about the new Colin the Caterpillar cake jars – designed for single servings of the popular birthday showstopper.
In other food news, people have been shocked to discover that Penguin bars are actually just two bourbon biscuits dipped in chocolate.
How did we not realise?
