The North Face Purple Label‘s Fall/Winter 2020 collection brought many must-have pieces of weather-battling outerwear, and now its seasonal drop presents a pair of boots to match. Taking inspiration from TNF‘s Nuptse jacket, these Eiichiro Homma-designed boots are made from waterproofed calf leather in black and feature a host of technical features that are sure to see you through even the harshest of conditions.
As spotlighted in the aforementioned FW20 collection, these Nuptse boots feature water repellent uppers alongside a Techproof waterproof membrane insert, THERMOLITE batting that makes the boots light but heat retentive, and a knitted inner bootie that, paired with the drawcords, will further keep the warmth in.
Debossed The North Face branding appears on the lateral front quarter, while Purple Label branding can be seen on the heel tabs attached to the inner knitted bootie. Branded tabs on the rear of the boot note the aforementioned Techproof membrane, while Vibram branding can be seen on the lateral-side midsole.
Vibram’s heavy-duty ICE TREK sole unit has been used for the Nuptse boot. It’s a special rubber compound that has been specifically developed to provide traction on very cold, icy, or snowy surfaces, while strategically placed pointed lugs will help you further dig into the ground.
The North Face Purple Label’s Nuptse boot retails for ¥31,900 JPY (approx. $308 USD) and can be purchased now from stockists such as atmos Tokyo. Take a closer look at the pair above.
