To introduce baby Archie to the world Meghan wore white, a colour hinting at purity, matching the blanket and hat Archie wore to meet the world for the first time.

It was a white sleeveless trench coat dress. It was a bespoke dress by Wales Bonner. Similar dresses from the brand have sold for around £600.

With the dress, Meghan wore her trusty Manolo Blahnik BB pump in beige suede. The shoes cost £515.

She added an 18-karat gold turquoise necklace by Jennifer Meyer necklace, which costs £535, and in her ears were Natalie Marie diamond studs, £1,397.

The total look is likely to have cost just over £3,000.

Kate Middleton wore a blue and white polka dot dress for her first appearance outside the Lindo Wing.

While taking Prince George home she chose a Jenny Packham dress, a favourite designer of the Duchess of Cambridge.

The cornflower blue dress was a cap-sleeve number made from silk crepe-de-chine with an empire waist belt.

The dress was a bespoke number, so its cost is unknown.

Kayte wore her Pied a Terre Imperia espadrilles wedges. The company was absorbed by Dune and the style now sells for £65.

Princess Eugenie posted the image of her newborn to her personal Instagram account as an “introduction”.

She wrote: “We wanted to introduce you to August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.

“Thank you for so many wonderful messages. Our hearts are full of love for this little human, words can’t express. We are excited to be able to share these photos with you.⁣”

The couple’s midwife took the sweet picture of the pair.

“Thank you to the wonderful essential workers including our midwife who came to discharge our boy,” she added.
