MEGHAN Markle is predicted to go into labour TODAY, according to bookmakers.
Bookies have slashed odds for the Duchess of Sussex, 37, to welcome her first baby into the world today – on the same day as Prince Louis’ birthday.
The odds for Baby Sussex arriving today are now 4/1, with each day this week being 5/1.
If bookmakers are correct, we haven’t got long to wait before the new baby is born, as an afternoon birth (between midday and 5.59pm) is currently the most popular pick in the book, despite being the 5/2 outsider.
If Prince Harry and Meghan's baby is born today, he or she will share a birthday with their cousin Prince Louis, who turns one today.
Philip Trampe of bookmakers.tv said: “The odds of Meghan and Harry sharing some happy baby news have taken another plunge.
"The latest betting definitely suggests there could be a baby announcement around the corner, perhaps even today, as bookies face the biggest royal betting frenzy of all time.
“Fans are so keen to speculate on every aspect of Baby Sussex and millions will be riding on the name, arrival date and sex among many other predictions.”
People are confident that Meghan will have a girl at 4/7, with three in every four bets on the gender favouring the outcome.
And the most popular name is Diana at 6/1, while the favourite is Elizabeth now at 5/1, and Victoria is another popular choice at 8/1.
If the baby is a boy, Albert and Philip are both favourites for a boy at 12/1, with James and Arthur behind at 16/1.
The Duchess is reportedly "nesting" in her new home, Frogmore Cottage, surrounded by scented candles as she awaits the birth.
Buckingham Palace announced that Meghan and Harry will keep the birth of their first-born private until they have had an opportunity to celebrate as a family.
In a statement, the palace said: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby.
"Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private.
"The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family."
