Meghan and Harry latest – Prince William brokers TRUCE with his brother as pair exchange Christmas gifts, reports claim

PRINCE Harry has been told to ‘forget’ about his military titles after stepping down as a senior royal.

Following Megxit, the Duke said goodbye to his three military accolades and royal historian Marlene Koenig says he is unlikely to be given them back.

Speaking to the Express, she said: “He chose to leave, and he cannot fulfil the responsibilities, he's gone off to live in another country.

“Part of being a working royal are military patronages – not every member of the Royal Family gets them, but most of them do – and they need to be taken very seriously.

"When you leave the job you don't get to retain the perks.”

It comes as the couple prepare to spend a “satisfied” Christmas in the US after fleeing the UK for good.

“I think the Sussexes will feel a sense of satisfaction this Christmas after a turbulent year” Richard Fitzwilliams told the Express.

THE QUEEN 'LAUGHED' AT MEGHAN'S CHRISTMAS GIFT

According to the Daily Star, Meghan Markle hit the nail on the head when she bought The Queen a singing hamster toy for her first Christmas as a royal in 2017.

A source told the publication: "Meghan bought a little hamster that sings with a little rope for Her Majesty.

"It was so funny, especially when the corgis tried to take hold of the toy."

The Queen reportedly "burst out laughing" and told Meghan: "It can keep my dogs company."

    MEGHAN'S CHRISTMAS TIPS

In an unearthed interview with Grazia, from before Meghan became a royal, the Duchess suggested hosting a buffet with mates instead of the traditional Christmas dinner.

The Duchess, 39, suggested "keeping it simple and crisp" with the table laid with white crockery and a white table cloth.

Gilded plates should be used, along with napkin rings and a "stylish set of cutlery."

She added: "All white flowers placed in the low vases are the perfect centerpiece."

Meghan has proven she is a big fan of white blooms, having selected sweet peas, lily of the valley, astilbe, jasmine, and astrantia and Diana's favourite forget-me-nots for her wedding.

When speaking about how to "fake fancy" her home, she advised: "Purchase silver serving trays, platters, nut bowls from flea markets or Etsy to add formality to hors d'oeuvres passing. "

Meanwhile, for hallways you could add garlands or magnolia branches round banisters or mantelpieces.

"Holidays with your friends allows you to break the family traditions and avoid Aunt Julie's fruit cake!" Meghan explained.

    HOW THE DUCHESS STAYS SLIM

Before marrying into the Royal Family, Meghan Markle made no secret about her love of healthy food and fitness.

Foodie Meghan is certainly no stranger to the kitchen, and said her devotion to cooking began when she was young.

She said that she would often visit her lighting director dad on set and she would help out with the catered food, and from here her passion for delicious food grew.

According to Delish.com, this is her typical day in meals:

    • Wake up: Hot water with lemon
    • Breakfast: Steel-cut oats with bananas and agave syrup drizzled on it
    • Lunch: Salad with protein of some kind
    • Snack: Apples with almond butter and sea salt
    • Late Afternoon Pick-Me-Up: Green juice
    • Dinner: Pasta with zucchini, lots of Parmesan and a glass of wine

However when she is having a relaxed day, her menu looks more like this:

    • Breakfast: An omelette with fresh herbs and cheese, and toast
    • Lunch: Seafood. And French fries, if she's lucky.
    • Dinner: "Typically soup. I'm more peckish then, so I usually go lighter for dinner.”

Meghan’s favourite dessert is said to be win, and even named her lifestyle blog The Tig after her all-time favourite Tignanello.

    WHAT'S MEG'S FAVE CHRISTMAS COCKTAIL?

Drinks flow freely at a Christmas party Meghan hosts, as she shared her signature ‘Almond Milk Spiced Holiday Cocktail’ on her now defunct blog The Tig.

The mum-of-one advised you can serve it hot or cold, while she recommended garnishing it with a cinnamon stick if you’re warming it up.

While if it’s chilled pop it in a champagne glass with a sugar or cinnamon rim.

    SUSSEXES PLAN FOR CALIFORNIAN CHRISTMAS

As much of the UK was plummets into Tier 3 or 4 lockdown, Harry and Meghan are set to spend Christmas in their California mansion.

The pair are set to spend the festive season with Harry’s “surrogate” dad David Foster and his wife Katherine McPhee, according to sources.

Meghan is apparently excited to host the Christmas holiday at her home and do the cooking, and the Royal Family is “not in the plan”.

An unnamed source told the paper: “Meghan very much wants to host the first Christmas at their new home with her mum.

“She’s really excited and is planning on doing all the traditions she grew up with as a child, including the cooking.

“They’ve also invited David and Katherine to spend it with them.

“David had mentioned Harry and Meghan going to theirs but Meghan wants it at home.

“They want to get on with their new lives. Christmas with Harry’s family is not in the plan.”

MEGHAN AND HARRY ‘WILL BE SEEN MORE IN 2021’

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry “will be seen more in 2021” but will shun the traditional role as “working royals”, an insider has claimed.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, sources close to the couple said Meghan and Harry are “optimistic and excited” for the future after a “rollercoaster” year.

Discussing what 2021 has in store for the couple, the insider claimed: “We will see more of them and in a different way to how we saw them as working royals.

“It will be more in line with who they are and the way they want to operate from now on.”

What’s more, a friend of the couple’s said they had achieved more than they ever thought possible this year – having moved into their £11m “forever” home in California and signing a Netflix deal reportedly worth £112m.

ARCHWELL CHARITY WILL FUND DISASTER RELEIF

Meghan and Harry have revealed their charity, the Archewell Foundation, will fund food kitchens in disaster zones as its first major project.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced their non-profit, which was set up eight months ago, has now joined forces with the World Central Kitchen which feeds people in disaster-stricken areas.

The sussex's charity was launched back in April with a baffling Greek-based name.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex say Archewell derives from the ancient word arche — or “source of action” — which also inspired the name of 11-month-old son Archie.

Arche appeared more than 2,500 years ago and was defined by philosopher Aristotle in a fourth century BC treatise.

Harry and Meghan, who now live in Los Angeles, used a Hollywood lawyer to register and trademark Archewell in the US.

QUEEN OUTDOES SUSSEXES WITH TECH SPEECH

The Queen’s Christmas message can be requested from Alexa for the first time this year.

The historic cutting-edge move shows Harry and Meghan are not the only royals capable of keeping up with new tech.

From 3pm on December 25, Her Majesty’s annual broadcast can be heard simply by asking the virtual assistant: “Play the Queen’s Christmas Day message.”

It is a far cry from the first royal Christmas message from George V which was broadcast on the radio in 1932.

For the first time in 30 years, the Queen, 94, and Prince Philip, 99, are staying at Windsor Castle instead of spending the festivities with family at Sandringham.

The Alexa innovation comes after Harry, 36, and Meghan, 39, signed deals said to be worth £130million with Spotify and Netflix for a series of podcasts and TV shows.

MEGHAN AND KATE'S ROYAL WEDDING DRESSMAKER ON THE BRINK OF HOMELESSNESS

The mastermind behind Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle's wedding dresses is said to be on the brink of homelessness after falling on hard times during the coronavirus pandemic.

Chloe Savage was once a revered embroiderer who was responsible for the glittering finishing touches on both the Duchesses' wedding dresses – but now her trade has entirely dried up.

Speaking to People Magazine, she said: "It's been horrific. We've had all our work literally dry up. My 14-year-old daughter is skipping meals to save on the food budget. The stress is getting to her."

Struggling to stay afloat, mum-of-three Chloe shut down her embroidery studio, laid off her apprentices and gladly accepted a government loan.

Sadly this was not enough to keep her out of the red, and she is struggling as a result.

She said: "We are now in the position where we have to actually not pay our bills for the first time ever.

"Well, what else do you do? You spend half the time phoning up agencies trying to grovel your way into reducing your bill or putting it on a monthly payment or spreading it over, just so you don't get hit by the whole thing.

"We might make it through to the New Year but we'll then have to sit down and try and grovel with our landlord and go into rent arrears until he decides to start removal procedures."

MEG HAS AN 'I LOVE YOU CALIFORNIA' SIGN IN HER HOME

The Duchess has showcased the interior of her home in several Zoom calls over lockdown.

And hung above the mantelpiece fans may have spotted a print of a bear holding the state of California in its paws, printed with the words “I love you California.”

The words refer to the state’s official anthem which was published in 1913, and later adopted by California 1951 and confirmed in 1987 as the sunshine state’s official song.

      SOMETHING IN COMMON

Meghan’s son Archie and Princess Eugenie’s baby could have something in common when the tot arrives next year.

If Eugenie decides to give birth in the same hospital that she was born in back in 1990, then the new royal baby and Archie Harrison will immediately share a similar story.

Meghan welcomed Archie, one, in London's The Portland Hospital back in May 2019.

Meanwhile, Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, were also born in the American-owned hospital.

In fact, when Sarah Ferguson gave birth to eldest daughter Beatrice in August 1988, it made her the first member of the royal family to give birth in a non-NHS hospital.

      MEGHAN’S SNACKING HABITS REVEALED

Meghan has spoken a fair bit about her diet in the past, and confirmed that one of her go-to healthy snacks is watermelon.

In a past interview, she said: “On set and at home, I try to always have a container of watermelon sprinkled with cinnamon because it elevates the flavour just a notch, and makes it feel special."

The mum-of-one also prefers a healthy drink to gorging on takeaways.

Speaking of her fast food choices, she told The Chalkboard in a past chat: "A green juice. That’s fast. And it’s food. It’s been many moons since I went through a drive thru."

INSIDE HARRY AND MEGHAN'S MEGA EARNINGS

They have been footing their own bills since quitting the Royal Family and moving into their new £11million California home earlier this year.

But if their recent mega-money media deals are anything to go by, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry certainly aren’t struggling to make ends meet.

It emerged this week that the couple have landed a £30million deal with Spotify for their own podcast – branded a “woke word salad” by listeners.

One insider said: “The initial multi-year deal is worth in excess of £30million with a view to extending it within six months.”

It comes on the back of a £112million Netflix deal – which led to Meghan being labelled the “new Kim Kardashian” – and a string of lucrative speaking events.
