Exactly How Victoria Beckham and 15 More Celebs Make Sweatpants Look So Damn Cute

I don’t know about you, but I have a love-hate relationship with sweatpants. I love how soft, comfy, and warm they are, especially during the winter. Then again, how is it possible that so many celebs can manage to make the baggy lounge pants cool — and sometimes even sexy— while I’m over here looking like MC Hammer’s little sister?

Well, in hopes of mastering the cute sweatpants look once and for all, I found some sweatpants-oriented outfits that have been worn by the biggest style stars — like Victoria Beckham, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kelly Rowland. Some of the A-listers went all out and splurged on designer sweats from brands — like Fendi and Vetements. With a few clever style tricks and a little bit of creative styling, they were able to turn the joggers into photo-ready moments. From dashing through the airport in style to making a cool statement during a night out, check out the tips I picked up from the 18 cute sweatpants outfits ahead.

Not even the always-glamorous Victoria Beckham can say no to sweatpants. She elevated her Adidas joggers ($60; macys.com) by wearing them with a tailored coat, over-sized sunglasses, crossbody bag ($1,350; net-a-porter.com), and Adidas shell toes ($80; macys.com).

4. Match your sweatpants with your sunglasses.

This might be one of the easiest style tricks that anyone can pull off while wearing sweatpants and a white T-shirt. Don’t be afraid to brighten up your look — like Dakota Fanning — with red Celine sunglasses ($460; neimanmarcus.com) and red sweatpants ($49; asos.com).

5. Pair sweatpants with a sexy sports bra.

Step up your sports bra game with a design that has a mesh inset similar to Alessandra Ambrosio’s. Bonus tip: If your baggy sweatpants are too long, hike ’em up and roll the waistband down.

Follow Kelly Rowland’s lead and wear matching pieces. Don’t just stop with the pants and the top. Keep things going with coordinating shoes just like Rowland’s Nike Air Max 90s ($60; bloomingdales.com).

9. Throw on a pair of mules with your sweatpants.

Sarah Jessica Parker uplifted her casual sweats with a pair of mules. Notice the strategically pushed up pant legs, which lengthens her entire look.

Sweatpants don’t have to be as baggy as a potato sack. A sliming pair with an adjustable drawstring can be just as comfy and much more flattering. Pair them with chunky boots — like Hadid’s Off-White x Timberland ($995; net-a-porter.com) — for extra cool points.

12. Pair sweatpants with boots.
