A picture of her grandmother in the ’80s, along with some artwork from Spanish painter Julio Romero de Torres, served as inspiration for Alejandra Alonso Rojas’ beautiful collection. Embracing a sustainable approach, she used upcycled materials to experiment with knitting techniques, and revisited some of her signature styles with new proportions to make them more wearable.
The look: Timeless, feminine sophistication with an urban, arty twist.
Quote of note: “I have never missed Spain so much in my life like now,” said the Madrid native and New York-based designer. “I wanted to inject Spanish references in the collection, but revisited in a modern way. That’s why I chose a polka dot pattern, but not the classic one. This is intentionally imperfect, it’s more artistic and comes in unexpected color combinations.”
