Here are some of our favourite (and most affordable) family activities for the holidays.
What festive things can you do with your family this Christmas?
Unfortunately, it's unlikely that we'll have a white Christmas this year.
So why not treat your family to the next best thing and take them ice skating?
There are plenty of outdoor rinks across the country, from London to Manchester, Cardiff and Edinburgh.
All it takes is a bit of card, glue and crayons to get kids excited.
You can help them make decorations for your living room, such as snowflakes and wreaths.
If your tree is looking a little bare, buy some string and turn their handiwork into ornaments.
They could even whip up some sweet personalised Christmas cards to send to family members.
Bake Christmas treats
There are so many delicious Christmas goodies you and your children can make together.
We're thinking mince pies, gingerbread men, Christmas cookies and Christmas cake.
They'll love decorating their finished treats with coloured icing and sweets – and of course, you'll get to eat them afterwards.
Book tickets for a pantomime
Do kids love pantos? Oh, yes they do!
Check out theatres near you to find a production your little ones will love – and any celebrities you'll enjoy seeing dressed up in ridiculous costumes.
Make sure you're all prepped for plenty of cheers and boo hisses.
Have a family film night
After a busy day skating, baking or crafting, there's nothing more relaxing than settling down on the sofa to watch a Christmas film.
To make things even cosier, you and your family could get dressed up in matching Christmas pyjamas.
For a truly magical memory, gather up a pile of blankets and let your children sleep under the tree afterwards.
Just make sure it's not Christmas Eve – they'll be in the way of someone very special…
Visit a Christmas market
Nothing says Christmas quite like a mug of hot chocolate warming your hands as the smell of Bratwurst wafts by.
Britain has really embraced Christmas markets over the past couple of years, with cities up and down the country hosting events.
From Winter Wonderland to Manchester's Christmas Markets, you'll have no problem finding a venue with stalls, rides and foods that the whole family will enjoy.
