You can get a Big Mac half price if you’re clever – and don’t mind a bit of work

Who doesn’t love a bargain? Especially when it comes to food, and in particular when it concerns a McDonald’s …

But how far would you go to save money on a burger?

There is a clever trick which could get you Big Mac for half the money, but it takes dedication.

A Big Mac costs £3.19, but if you follow these steps, you could get one for just £1.59.

What you have to do is order a double cheeseburger for just £1.59 at a self service kiosk.

Next, you take advantage of all the free add-on ingredients that come as part of a Big Mac. These are onions, pickles, mustard, lettuce and mayonnaise.

If you want it to be as close to a Big Mac as possible, then you also need to skip the ketchup.

The only components your faux Big Mac lacks is the middle bread bun and the special Big Mac sauce.

But hey, if you save £1.59 that’s not too drastic a compromise, right?

And according to some McDonald’s aficionados, you can in fact ask staff for Big Mac sauce at no additional cost.

CoolCarCuffs, a member, said: "While it won’t taste or look exactly like the iconic Big Mac, it’s a pretty neat trick…

"Less than a limp supermarket sarnie."

We can’t argue with that.
